Albert L. Hayden died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Community Hospital of McCook at the age of 70.

He was born June 5, 1934, at Indianola the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Neumann) Hayden. He grew up in Indianola where he attended Indianola High School. He entered the United States Army serving from 1956 to 1958.

On June 9, 1961, Albert married Thelma Burgess and they made their home in McCook where he was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement.

His wife Thelma preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 1980, Albert and Thelma had two sons, Mel Hayden and wife, Trina of Rock Hill, S.C., and Joseph Hayden and wife, Tamera of Lincoln; one daughter, Bedonna Coe of Puyallup, Wash., and two step-sons, Richard "Rocky" Willis and wife, Shiuvaun of Culbertson and Donald Wayne Willis of Lincoln.

On Aug. 29, 1991, Albert married Wilma J. Norton and added three more step-children to his family, Benny Foster, Billy Patras and Tammy Knight, all of McCook; 23 grandchildren; three brothers, Manny Hayden and wife, Janette of Kimball, Tom Hayden and wife, Barb of Deer Island, Ore., and Louis Hayden and wife, Janet of Casper, Wyo.; one sister, Elaine Steinbeck of Aurora, Colo., relatives and friends.

Graveside services are Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Indianola.
