Staver, Messersmith wedding

Amanda and Eric Messersmith

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Amanda Catherine Staver and Eric Landon Messersmith were united in marriage Jan. 8, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan, Kan., with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating.

Parents of the couple are John and Patricia Love Staver of Manhattan, Kan., and Kenny and Sue Messersmith of Hayes Center.

Grandparents of the couple are Betty McKillip, Deloit and Joan Messersmith of Hayes Center and Trudy Love of Indianapolis, Ind.

The bride wore a strapless, A-line gown made of royal satin. It had embroidery and beading flowing asymmetrically across the bodice toward the hemline. The decoration complemented the lace-up back and the semi-cathedral length train with decorated buttons.

Emily Staver, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Dolezal of Manhattan and Kristin Rigard, Leah Kastrup, Jessica Blair and Emily Richmond, all of Lincoln.

The best man was Tyler Messersmith, brother of the bridegroom.

Bridegroomsmen were Drew Messersmith and Evan Messersmith, brothers of the bridegroom, Jorge Dimas, Austin McKillip and Kip Richards, both cousins of the bridegroom.

The flower girls were Emma McKillip, Rylie Egla and Kodie Egle, cousin of the bridegroom. The ring bearer was Weston Richards, cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers for the ceremony were Schuyler Risk, Richard Mohr, Heath Renfro, Isaac Paden, all of Lincoln, and Ross Lyons of Manhattan.

The guestbook attendant was Lindsey Solomon. Gift attendants were Carla McKillip, aunt of the bridegroom, and Tanner Richards, cousin of the bridegroom.

The reception was at the Manhattan Country Club.

The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya.

The bride plans to complete her bachelor's degree in psychology in May at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She is employed with the University of Nebraska Foundation. The bridegroom is a graduate of UNL with a bachelor's degree in history. He is employed with the Nebraska Department of Corrections.

The couple lives in Lincoln.
