OBERLIN -- Ivah Mae Alexander, 95, died Monday (March 7, 2005) in Oberlin.

She was born April 4, 1909, to Harvey and May (Taylor) Alexander in rural Lyle, Kan. She was raised near Lyle and attended school at District 110 Country School. She graduated from Norcatur High School in 1929 and attended beauty school.

She lived in Topeka, Kan., and Norcatur. She was a hair dresser and a telephone operator.

She was a member of the Norcatur United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and was a former BPW member.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pearl Alexander; and sister-in-law, Pearl E. Alexander.

Survivors include one brother, Glenn Alexander of Norcatur.

Services are Thursday, 3 p.m., at the Norcatur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathleen Aeillo officiating. Interment will be in Norcatur Cemetery.

Visitation is today, 4-8 p.m., and Thursday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Memorials may be given in the church or the Norcatur Highway Fund.
