Hilda C. Groothuis

CULBERTSON -- Hilda C. Groothuis, 98, died Wednesday (March 2, 2005) at El Dorado Manor Home in Trenton.

She was born Aug. 1, 1906, to Charlie and Louise (Hemann) Haussler in Holbrook. She grew up in Holbrook and attended Holbrook High School.

On April 19, 1928, she married Andrew A. Groothuis in Culbertson. The couple spent their married lives in Culbertson, until retiring in 1968.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew on June 24, 1989; and three brothers, Walter, Clarence and Leonard Hausler.

Survivors include one sister, Velma Buzzell of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Keith Wellman officiating. Interment will be in Trenton Cemetery in Trenton.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton.
