Delmere Franklin Thomas, 90, died Sunday (Feb. 13, 2005) at Cambridge Manor Home in Cambridge.
He was born April 23, 1914, to Frank and Julia Elizabeth (Halsey) Thomas in Red Willow County. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Lebanon and graduated from rural school. He attended high school in Danbury.
On Feb. 14, 1941, he married Letha Leola Nokes and they made their home on the family farm.
He entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After his discharge he returned to the family farm.
His wife, Letha, preceded him death on Oct. 13, 1956.
In 1965, he married Helen Martin. She preceded him in death in March of 1985.
In 1992, he married Faye Korell.
He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook, the American Legion and VFW.
He was preceded in death by his first and second wife; infant son, Franklin Lee Thomas on July 17, 1950; one grandson, Terry Fatout on Aug. 12, 1983; and one sister, Marie Grafton.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Thomas of McCook; two daughters, Janet Walker and husband, Thomas of San Antonio, Texas and Judy Powell of Indianola; one sister, Esther Redtfeldt of Emmett, Idaho; and 10 grandchildren.
Services are Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
