DRESDEN -- Gertrude Fleckenstein, 88, died Thursday (Feb. 10, 2005) at Rawlins County Hospital in Atwood.
She was born May 26, 1918, to William and Gertrude (Beckmier) Nondorf on a farm east of Hoxie, Kan. She was raised in Hoxie, Angelus and Leoville, Kan.
On Aug. 2, 1938, she married Joseph Fleckenstein in Selden. She was a homemaker. The couple lived near Leoville and then moved to a farm east of Dresden.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe on July 8, 1988; infant son, Joseph Jr.; brothers, Bill, Joe and Leo Nondorf; sisters, Rose Kuhl, Agnes Feldt, Lea Nondorf and one in infancy; and grandson, Justin Fleckenstein.
Survivors include her son, Leonard and wife, Doris Fleckenstein of Jennings; daughters, Geraldine and husband, Bill Lampe of St. Francis and Dolores and husband, Bob Rohr of Goodland; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Leoville with the Rev. George Kochuvelikkakam and Deacon Stan Chapin officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Church in Leoville.
Visitation is Sunday, 2-5 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden, 6-8 p.m., at the church and Monday after 8 a.m., at the church.
Vigil service is Sunday, 7 p.m., at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Gertrude Fleckenstein Memorial Fund.
