ATWOOD -- Williams C. "Bill" Weishapl, 44, died Saturday (Jan. 29, 2005) at his home of natural causes.
He was born Jan. 19, 1961, to Linus and Rosemary (Simminger) Weishapl. He graduated from Atwood High School in 1979.
In 1984, he enlisted in the U. S. Army specializing as a senior welder metal worker. He served tours in Germany and Panama and was honorably discharged in 1988. From 1991 until the time of his death he was a member of the 388th Medical Logistics Supply Battalion Forward Army Reserve Unit in Hays, Kan. He was a NCO.
He married Cheryl Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his father; and infant sister, Margaret Ann.
Survivors include his children, Alexis Ann and Rex Charles Weishapl of Bird City; his mother, Rosemary Weishapl; brother, Michael Weishapl; and sisters, Susan Easterday and husband, Kirk and Nancy Kanak and husband, Jim, all of Atwood.
Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Dana Clark officiating. Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atwood with military rites by the 388th Medical Logistics Supply Battalion of Hays and the American Legion, Sam Hubbard Post No. 46 of Atwood.
A vigil and rosary will be Friday, 7 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood.
Memorials may be given to the William C. "Bill" Weishapl memorial fund.
