OBERLIN -- Maxine Chambers, 88, died Thursday (Jan. 27, 2005) at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

She was born June 1, 1916, to Wesley Amer and Matie Marie (Myers) Caster in Oberlin. She was raised in Nebraska and Canada.

She had lived in Nampa, Idaho, Norcatur and Oberlin. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Prairie View Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1997; infant son, Larry Kent Chambers; brother, Gerald Amer Caster; two sisters, Lucille Garland Teets and Geneva Eileen Richardson; and grandson, Martin Wesley Allen.

Survivors include two sons, Darrel David Chambers of Culbertson and Daniel Darren Chambers of Holyoke, Colo.; three daughters, Joan Marie Gaul of Denver, Colo., Carolyn Lou Allen of Oberlin and Sharon Barbara Temple of Sandpoint, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are Monday, 10 a.m., at the Oberlin Cemetery with Jim Plotts officiating.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-8 p.m., and Monday, 8 a.m., until service time at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Memorials may be given in her name to Cedar Living Center or Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
