Stephanie Sue Ankerson and Timothy Christian 'Buck' Starnes

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ankersen of McCook announce the

engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Sue, to Timothy Christian "Buck" Starnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas Couch and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Starnes of Atlanta, Ga. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ankersen and Richard Calhoon of Beatrice and Margaret Calhoon of Minneapolis. Minn. She is a 2000 graduate of McCook High School and attended McCook Community College. She is a sergeant in the Army serving with the 1st Infantry Division, 701st Medical Support Battalion, based out of Germany, and currently deployed in Iraq. Upon completion of her military obligation she plans to continue her college education. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Eugene Beinke of Blairsville, Ga., and Irene Beinke of Decatur, Ga., and the late Rev. Dr. and Mrs. D.M. Starnes. His step-grandmothers are Mildred Couch of Marietta, Ga., and Janiece Beinke of Blairsville, Ga. He is a 1996 graduate of Shamrock High School and a 2001 graduate of Tusculum College where he received a bachelors degree in mass communications. He is a sergeant serving in the Army with the 1st Infantry Division, 701st Medical Support Battalion based out of Germany, and is currently deployed in Iraq. He is tentatively scheduled to begin warrant officer flight training this summer. The couple is planning a March 12, 2005, ceremony at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.
