Terry K. Rieke, 62, died Thursday (Jan. 6, 2005) at his home in Aurora.

He was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Willard and Anita (Day) Rieke. He grew up in Chester where he graduated from Chester High School in 1960. He attended Fairbury Junior College and graduated from Kearney State College where he received his bachelor and masters degrees in education.

On June 10, 1962, he married Karen Hellbusch at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gilead. He coached and taught school in Nebraska for twelve years at Campbell, Benkelman, Hastings Adam Central and Tecumseh. In 1976, he joined LeDoiyt Land Management. He worked for LeDoiyt until 1997. He worked briefly for Hertz Management until he began RGA Farm Management and Realty in 2001.

He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, serving on the church council.

He was a past president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and he served on the Aurora Country Club Board of Directors. He was a member of the Aurora Rotary Club as well as being a member of numerous professional farm management and insurance organizations.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father; his wife; one son, Randy and wife, Kellie Rieke of Lexington; two daughters, Robyn and husband, John Schultheiss of Kearney and Roxann and husband, Gregg Holliday of Arlington; a sister, Susan and husband, Ron Moxham of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Dawn and husband, Roger Kendall of Reynolds; a brother-in-law, Norman and wife, Juleen Hellbusch of Monument, Colo. ; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 3 great step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Pastors Sheryl and Chris Kester-Beyer officiated. Interment was in the Aurora Cemetery.
