McDONALD -- Dorothy Faye (Archer) Pickett, 85, died Monday (Dec. 27, 2004) at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland.
She was born Feb. 13, 1919, to Major William and Clara (Ough) Archer in Strang. She attended elementary school and was a graduate of McDonald High School. After her mother's death, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Otis and Ellen Archer.
She married Albert L. Pickett. She worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Company. The couple ran the Standard Service Station in McDonald for a while. After moving to the farm, she became a homemaker and farm wife.
She was a member of the Federated Church and the Federated Ladies Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; and brothers, Melvin, Everett, Al, Otis, Robert and Elmer Moore.
Survivors include two sons, HP "Pete" and wife, Ruth of North Platte and Eldon and wife, Jeri of Lawrence, Kan.; sister, Gladys Gosser of Hays, Kan.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday, 11 a.m., at the Federated Church in McDonald with the Rev. Greg Moyer officiating. Interment will be in Grace Cemetery in McDonald.
Visitation is today, 1-8 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood.
Memorials may be given to the Federated Women's Guild.
