MINNEOLA, Kan. -- Darline Meredith-Sparks, 97, died Nov. 27, 2004, at Minneola Long Term Care Unit in Minneola, Kan.
She was born Jan. 10, 1907, to George and Minnie Gray in Towanda, Kan.
On Dec. 24, 1924, she married Ruel Meredith. He preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1973.
She was a resident of El Dorado, Kan. She then relocated to Harlingen, Texas and lived there for more than 25 years. She has been a resident of Minneola since 2002.
She was a retired school cook. She worked in the El Dorado school system in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
She was a lifetime member of the Little Walnut Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Leon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Wayne Meredith; one daughter, Maxine Henry; one granddaughter, Marina Meredith; and one great-grandson, Nathanial Buckley.
Survivors include one son, David Meredith of Berlin, Germany; three daughters, Virgina King of McCook, Norma Jean Kulick of Lubbock, Texas and Marion Crumrine of St. Joseph, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in El Dorado with the Rev. Kip Ryherd officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
