Good heavens -- you'd think turkey was hard to fix. Turkey-cooking secrets here ... turkey tips there .... turkey hotlines everywhere.

According to Rose Sitzman's first graders, cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner isn't difficult at all. All it takes is shooting it, adding a little salt and pepper and cooking it at about six degrees of heat.

Read on for these McCook first graders' turkey recipes:

Aaron Coburn: Put pepper on it. Put it in the oven. Poke it with a fork to see if it's done. If it isn't frozen any more, it's done.

Allison Reese: I would get my dad to shoot it. Bring it home. Take the feathers off and put them on a toy for the dog, Sally. Take the skin off. Put a can of some kind of pop in where it sits. Put it in the oven for 20 minutes.

Bret Baumbach: Cut the skin off. Set it on an empty can. Put it in the oven for six minutes. It's done when it beeps.

Caleb Sheets: Buy a turkey at the store. Take it home and put it in the oven. Take it out of the oven when it's a little brown.

Cody Clason: To make the stuffing, I would use bread and pine. Stiff it up into its belly. Cook it nice and rare in the oven. It takes about three hours.

Cole Leach: Put magic dust on it to see if it is alive. The dust will make it not live anymore. Put pepper and salt on it. Cook it in a stove. The stove rings when it's done.

Ethan Yardley: Roast it in the microwave for a minute. Put tomatoes on when it's done cooking. Eat it outside with the family.

Dakota Lavery: Get a turkey at Wal-Mart. Squirt something into it. Cook it in the microwave with peas. It's done when the dinger goes off in the microwave.

Dusty Capps: Put salt and pepper on it. Put hot peppers on it. Put it in the oven and set it for 90 minutes. When the timer goes off, take it to the table, pray and eat.

Harrison Coulter: Take off the feathers. Put it in the oven on a pan. Put some season on it. Cook it for about 30 minutes. It should look brown.

Heather Michaelsen: Squirt juice on it. Put it in a pan. Put it in the oven for six minutes or so, until it's brown and shiny. It smells good like eggs.

Luke Curl: Go buy a turkey at Wal-Mart. Get one of those big ol' roaster pans. Put the turkey in the pan with carrots. Then stick it in the oven for 30 minutes, about six degrees.

Madelyn Bjork: Sneak up behind it and catch it. Kill it with an ax. Take all the feathers off. Put it on the pan. Put salt and pepper on it. Cook it in the oven. When it's done, put a lettuce and bread around it.

Madison Crowe: Get the stuff out of it that you wouldn't eat. Put it on a tray. Put oil, salt and pepper on it. Put it in the oven for about 30 minutes. Turn the light on to see if it's juicy and slimy. That means it's done.

Michael Stemke: Put pepper and taco sauce on the turkey. Put it in the oven for 50 minutes. Check the oven and look at the thermometer. It has to get to 90 degrees. Put salad on it if it's done.

Pedro Gurtierrez: Kill a chicken. Cut it in little parts. Put some salt on it. Put it on a plate. Put fire under it. When it gets hot, eat it.

Riley Loop: Cut off its head. Take the feathers off. Cut it open and get all the meat ... just pull it out. Put it in water to wash the blood off. Put it in a pan. Put flour on it. Cook it for 15 or 20 minutes.

Sebastian Green: Put it in a pan. Pour soup over it. Put it in the oven for five minutes. It's done when you hear the ding.

Tara Daniel: Put the turkey on the grill. Put on some spicy seasoning. Start the grill. Cook it for 20 minutes. It feels hot when it's done.
