IMPERIAL -- Wilma "Ruth" Wittwer, 82, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 2004) at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln.

She was born Sept. 9, 1922, to Elmer and Ethel Wilson in rural Hayes County. She attended school in Hayes Center and graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1940.

On Dec. 25, 1942, she married Arthur Wittwer in Las Vegas, Nev. After her husband returned from the service, they lived on a farm north of Hayes Center until 1995, when they moved to Imperial.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward and wife, LoisLee Wilson; and nephew, Lawrence Wilson.

Survivors include her husband, Art of Imperial; daughters, Marcia Fowler and husband, Duane of Imperial and Susan Oman and husband, Craig of Callaway; son, Clark Wittwer and wife, Judi of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were Thursday, 10 a.m. (MST), at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with the Rev. Ronald Krause officiating. Interment was in the Hayes Center Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
