GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Caroline Marie Hughes, 62, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 2004) at her home in Grand Junction, Colo.
She was born Feb. 27, 1942, to Earl and Leona (Spoeneman) Hughes in North Platte. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Maywood High School in 1960. She then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for one year and then enrolled at Mercy School of Nursing in 1961. She graduated from nurse's training in 1964 as a registered nurse.
She helped develop the cardiac rehabilitation programs for the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, Ariz., and North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colo.
She continued her education by completing her master's degree in psychotherapy in 1992 from the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley.
She has been a resident of Grand Junction since 1992, and in a private counseling practice at the Behavioral Health and Wellness Center.
Graveside services are Friday, 2 p.m., at the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge with the Rev. Nicholas Baker officiating.
