DES MOINES, Iowa -- Lea Ann Hertz, 51, died Nov. 10, 2004, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was born June 20, 1953, to John and Marva (Moore) Teter at the Millington Naval Hospital in Millington, Tenn. She resided in Bartley for a short while, but spent the majority of her childhood in Holdrege. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1971. She attended Kearney State College where she earned her degree in elementary education in 1975.

On June 16, 1974, she married Tim Hertz. The couple made their home in Kearney. They then moved to Monmouth, Ill., and then later moved to Des Moines. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1996.

She was preceded in death her husband; her mother-in-law, Millicent "Sue" Hertz; and father-in-law, Keith Hertz.

Survivors include two sons, Jonathan Hertz of Ames, Iowa and James Hertz of Des Moines; her parents, John and Marva Teter of Holdrege; two sisters, Shirley Krysl and her husband, Don of Hebron and Ivy Hanson and her husband, Tim of Kearney; one sister-in-law, Sally Hertz of Oklahoma; and one brother-in-law, Ben Hertz and wife, Julie of Denver, Colo.

Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege with the Rev. Buck Linton-Hendrick and Roy Hart Jr., officiating.

The memorial book signing is Friday, 5-9 p.m., at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the family greeting from 7-8:30 p.m.
