Graveside funeral services for Helen Mitchell will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Riverview Cemetery in McCook. Arrangements are with Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata, Okla.

Helen Martha Mitchell, age 93 and a Nowata resident, began this life Feb. 4, 1911, in Clay Center as the daughter of William Fred Miller and Amy Hulda Clamp Miller. She moved to McCook at an early age where she graduated from high school. She was married to John Elmer Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell remained in the McCook area most of her life before moving to Nowata, Okla., five years ago. Mrs. Mitchell worked as a cook in a hospital. She was of the Methodist faith and she enjoyed spending time with her family and doing craft work.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one son, Gary Mitchell and his wife, Penni of Fairbury; by three daughters, Norma Dye and her husband, Richard of Caņon City, Colo., Ellen Langley and her husband, Jimmie of Nowata and Joyce Huffman and her husband, Gary of McCook; by 22 grandchildren; by several great-grandchildren; by other relatives; and by her friends.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, John Elmer Mitchell; by two sons, Virgil Miller and an infant son; by one daughter, Eunice Criswell; by her parents, William and Hulda Miller; by one brother, John Miller; and by one sister, Mildred Anderson.
