ELWOOD -- Marvin "Mike" Schutz, 80, of Elwood, died Monday (Oct. 25, 2004) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Nov. 21, 1923, southwest of Elwood to William and Mary Heny Schutz. He attended Salem Lutheran School.
On Oct. 2, 1946, he married Ruth Braun in Norton, Kan. He lived and farmed his entire life in Frontier County. In addition, to farming he was an agent for Archer Petroleum Company through which he developed and enjoyed many friendships.
He was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church and a current member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Elwood; three sons, Norman and William, both of Elwood, and Darrel of Eustis; and a daughter, Diann and husband, Tom Kiser of Golden, Colo.
Services are Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood with the Rev. Jeff Ernstmeyer officiating.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial will be established in his memory.
