SCOTTSBLUFF -- Donald Francis Colling Sr., 80, died Wednesday (Oct. 6, 2004) at Beverly Health Care in Scottsbluff.
He was born January 27, 1924, to Louis and Susie (O'Dea) Colling in McCook. He graduated from Red Willow Schools.
He started working in the grocery business in McCook at Hinky Dinky. After moving to the panhandle, he worked at Alexander's Co-op and Baily's Town and Country grocery stores as department manager.
On June 12, 1946, he married Bernice Miller in McCook. She died in 1967.
On June 1, 1984, he married Mary Britthouer in Scottsbluff.
He was a past member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, Elks and a trustee on the Terrytown Village Board for several years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice; his parents; and one brother, Bernard.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Gering; four sons, Donald Jr., and wife, Deb of Pardeeville, Wis., Christopher of Thornton, Colo., David and wife, Tracy of Westminister, Colo., and Joseph of Plantation, Fla.; step-daughters, Florine Britthouer of Scottsbluff and Sandee and husband, Carl of Wamboldt of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three brothers, Harold, George and Joseph; four sisters, Lucille Hill, Mildred Stratman, twin sister Doloris Clifton and Marjorie Malleck; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, 1 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Don Burham officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
A vigil is today, 7 p.m., at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff.
Friends may call today until 7 p.m., at the funeral chapel.
