ATWOOD -- Dr. Harold Graden Easterday, 82, died Monday (Oct. 4, 2004) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.
He was born July 2, 1922, in Abilene, Kan. He graduated of Washburn High School in 1940 and graduated from Kansas State Veterinarian School in 1952.
He was in the Army Air Force during World War II as a gunnery sergeant.
On July 25, 1945, he married Joan Marie Stople in Topeka, Kan
He was a veterinarian.
He was a member of the Atwood United Methodist Church of Atwood, Masonic Lodge No. 164 AF & AM, Isis Shrine Temple of Salina, Kan., Sam Hubbard American Legion Post 46, VFW Post 1368, Past President of the Atwood School District, former member of the Rawlins County Hospital Board, Board of Advisors at the Goodland, Kan., Vo-Tech school, life member of National Rifle Association and the Atwood Sportsmen Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marie on Jan. 15, 2004; one grandchild, Natalie Miller; and son-in-law, Jim Robb.
Survivors include four daughters, Katherine Wright of Lakeland, Fla., Carol Robb of Entiat, Wash., Margaret Kastens and husband, Leland of Atwood and Bonnie Wagner and husband, Eric of Independence, Mo.; son, Kirk Graden and wife, Susan of Atwood; brother, Donald Easterday and wife, Elyane of Mission Viejo, Calif.; sister, Louise Stitzel of Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, 1 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Atwood. Burial will be Atwood Fairview Cemetery with military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Sam Hubbard Post No. 46
Memorials may be given in his name to the Rawlins County Health Center or the United Methodist Church.
