CLINTON, Mo. -- Harriet Isabelle Hockman, 93, died Thursday (Sept. 30, 2004) at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton, Mo.

She was born May 5, 1911, to Charles Bert and Mary Ann (Downs) Masters in Red Willow County. She grew up in Red Willow County and attended Red Willow High school.

On Oct. 11, 1930, she married Erven Hockman in McCook. For 32 years she was a clerk and purchasing agent for Clapps Store for Women. She retired at the age of 69 in 1981.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McCook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erven Dec. 19, 1997; one son, Wilbur "Bill" Hockman on June 29, 1979; one brother, Charles Masters; and one grandson, Daniel Hill.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Springer and husband, Francis of Farmington, N.M., Beverly Long and husband, Frank of Warsaw, Mo.; one son, James Hockman and wife, Grace of Boulder, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 10 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Revs. Stan Hendershot and James Denny officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook
