IMPERIAL -- Jeweline Johnson, 77, died Monday (Sept. 27, 2004) at Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.
She was born Sept. 19, 1927, to Chester P. and Ollie Lee (Martin) Jones in Worley, Ky. She grew up in Worley and attended school there. She moved to Detroit, Mich., with her brother, Earnest.
She married Horase C. Johnson. The couple made their home in Detroit for many years. He died in 1985. She then moved to Wauneta to be near family.
She was a member of the Immanuel Missionary Church of Wauneta
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Horase; brother, Earnest; and sisters, Joyce, Eveline, Anna May and Barbara Sue.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Johnson of Heath, Ohio, Varley Johnson of Wayne, Mich., and Eva Johnson of Flowery Beach, Ga.; two sisters, Gladys Baughman of Virginia Beach, Va., and Gloria Sinner and husband, Lloyd of Wauneta; three brothers, Estes Jones and wife, Eartha of Lancing, Tenn., Roy Jones and wife, Deline of Sidney, Ohio and Dean Jones and wife, Ginger of Alma, Mich.; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
Services were Saturday at the Immanuel Missionary Church in Wauneta with the Rev. Gary Hunt officiating. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in her name.
