WAUNETA -- Robert "Bob" Nordhausen, 58, died Wednesday (Sept. 1, 2004) at his home in Wauneta.
He was born April 1, 1946, to Herman and Alvina (Denker) Nordhausen in Imperial. He attended school in rural Chase County and Wauneta. He graduated from Wauneta High School in 1964. After attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln he returned to Wauneta to assist the family with the farm operation.
He was drafted to serve during the Vietnam conflict and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He returned to Wauneta and began farming. He served as secretary of Wauneta Coop Oil for eight years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and infant, Leon.
Survivors include three sisters, Anita Smith and husband, Mert of Seward, Veleta Sutherland and husband, Jim of Battle Lake, Minn., and Judy Evers and husband, Rudy of Wauneta; brother, Harold Nordhausen and wife, Jan of Wauneta; and sister-in-law, Colleen Garton and husband, Ben of Winsor, Colo.
Services are Saturday, 3 p.m. (MDT), at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in rural Wauneta with the Rev. Keith Wellman officiating. A private inurnment will be at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery before the services.
A memorial has been established in his name.
