Cambridge native ten Bensel inspired the crowd with the performance of "I'm From Nebraska and I Believe That Says It All," a song that ten Bensel wrote about her Nebraska heritage and recorded in Nashville, Tenn.
ten Bensel then moved into the Nebraska fight song which brought the crowd to its feet.
Coach Callahan spoke of his dynamic coaching career, as well as talking about his hopes and dreams for the 2004 Nebraska Football team.
It was the only appearance coach Callahan has made in central Nebraska since becoming the head coach of the University of Nebraska Football team. Joining Ginger at the event was her brother Jan ten Bensel, school board member from Cambridge, who had the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with the sports icon.
The fundraiser was a success, raising nearly $20,000 to help area families in need.
