KEARNEY -- Doris Lucille Snyder, 79, of Arapahoe, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 2004) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born Oct. 30, 1924, to Roy and Rena (Scott) Holloway in Gosper County. She attended rural school in Gosper County and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1942.
On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Richard Snyder in St. Germanus Church in Arapahoe. The couple made their home in El Paso, Texas, until her husband was discharged from the service in 1948. They returned to Arapahoe. She was a secretary in the law offices of George Proud and Ward Urbom and she was a secretary and bookkeeper at Arapahoe Agri Services.
She was a member of St. Germanus Church in Arapahoe where she was an organist for 23 years. She was also a member of St. Germanus Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Kenneth.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Snyder of Arapahoe; two sons, Phillip Snyder of Omaha and Tom Snyder of Monroe; one daughter, Kimberly Dawson and husband, Bill of Edison; one sister, Ruth Doll and husband, Hubert of Lincoln; one brother, Ralph and wife, Elda of Lincoln; and four grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Germanus Catholic Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Robert Barnhill officiating. Interment will be in Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.
The rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at the church.
Visitation is Saturday from 2-8 p.m., and Sunday from 1-5 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe.
Memorials may be given in her name to "Our Lady of the Fatima Shrine" in Arapahoe.
