DENVER, Colo. -- Ronda Elaine Hill, 50, died Sunday (July 11, 2004) in Denver, Colo.
She was born Jan. 8, 1954, to Glenn E. and Florence L. "Tiny" (Hoppes) Vernon in Oberlin. She grew up in Norcatur and attended Norcatur Grade School. She also attended Decatur Community High School in Oberlin and graduated from South High School in Salina, Kan. She attended Brown Mackie College in Salina.
In 1976, she married Alan Hill in Salina. The couple divorced. She has resided in Salina, Abilene and Lewisville, Kan., Sherman, Texas, Memphis, Tenn., and Denver, Colo. She worked in the travel industry.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, March of Dimes and the Gabriel Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Vernon and Kevin L. Vernon; and two nephews, Terrie and Jimmie Jones.
Survivors include her special friend, Grady Hunt of Denver; son, Josh Hill of Denver; brother, Boyle "Butch" and wife, Beverly Vernon of Lafayette, Colo.; two sisters, Barbara Kilpatrick of Abilene, Kan., and Janice and husband, Richard Hayes of Atwood; sisters-in-law, Amelia Vernon of Estes Park, Colo., and Diana Vernon of Blue Springs, Mo.; and former husband, Alan Hill of Wamego, Kan.
Services are Thursday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with Jim Plotts officiating. Interment will be in Norcatur Cemetery.
Memorials can be given in her name to the Ronda Hill Memorial Fund.
