TRENTON -- Doris Elaine Hovey, 78, died Monday (June 21, 2004) at her home in Trenton.
She was born July 25, 1926, to Clarence and Ella (Seybold) Taul in Trenton. She grew up in Trenton. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1943.
On Dec. 7, 1948, she married Arthur Wayne "Pug" Hovey in Trenton. The couple spent their married lives in Trenton. For 30 years, she was the school secretary for Trenton High School. She retired in 1992.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary of Trenton and VFW Auxiliary of Culbertson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Pug" March 24, 2004; one son, Kirk Hovey in 1962; her parents; one brother, Don Taul; and one sister, Anita Sitzman.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Hovey and wife, Marilyn of Trenton and Terry Hovey and wife, Sheri of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Jerry Taul and wife, Marilyn of North Platte; two sisters, Margaret Baker and husband, Harold of Trenton and Joyce Troxel and husband, Darrel of Hisperia, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of God in Trenton with Johnny Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton.
