CAMBRIDGE -- John R. Trumble, 88, died Friday (June 4, 2004) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born Oct. 31, 1915, to Arthur and Stella (Ross) Trumble. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1934 and farmed with his father until he joined the Army. He served in World War II from 1941-1945.
On Aug. 4, 1941, he married Beulah Mousel of Cambridge. When he returned from military duty, he farmed until the late 1960's, when he worked at a mechanic at Heilman Chevrolet until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion and was a lifetime member of St. John's Catholic Church of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and their wives; and son-in-law, Dick Lewandowski.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah; four children, Joan Lewandowski of Billings, Mont., Peggy and husband, Ken Hilton, Jean and husband, Gary tenBensel and John P. and wife, Luella Trumble, all of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.
The rosary will be recited today, 7:30 p.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
Memorials may be given in him name to Butler Memorial Library or the charity of one's choice.
