OBERLIN -- Idella Frickey, 64, died Thursday (June 3, 2004) at Decatur County Hospital of Oberlin.
She was born May 22, 1940, to Arthur and Loretta (Foster) Nelson in Worthington, Minn. She grew up in Oberlin and attended school at Oberlin Elementary. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1958. She graduated from Friends University in Wichita, Kan., with a degree in human resource management. She also graduated from the University of Phoenix with a masters degree in organizational management.
In 1958, she married Lemoin Rush. The couple divorced and in 1979, she married Charles Frickey. The couple divorced. She was a self-employed insurance and real estate agent abstracter and income tax consultant. She taught outreach courses for Colby Community College.
She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Robert Whetzel.
Survivors include two sons, Terry and wife, Sandy Rush of Oberlin and Kevin and wife, Michelle Rush of Olathe; one daughter, Cinda and husband, Vernon Flax of Arnold; two sisters, Janette and husband, Howard Votapka of Oberlin and Patricia Whetzel of Oberlin; and eight grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 10 a.m., at the United Church of Oberlin with the Rev. Grant Davis officiating. Interment will be in Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, 1-8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Monday, 8 a.m., until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Decatur County Hospital.
