Berdeane F. (Jussel) Stewart died Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Tiffany Square Nursing Home in Grand Island at the age of 86.

She was born July 13, 1917, at Ragan, the daughter of the late Fay and Irene (Ball) Willsey. Berdeane grew up in Ragan and attended rural school in Huntley before moving to Wauneta.

On April 24, 1934, Berdeane married Francis "Bud" Jussel at Oberlin and they made their home in Wauneta, until moving to McCook in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud on Oct. 23, 1972.

On July 5, 1975, Berdeane married Roy L. Stewart and they resided in Culbertson. Roy preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1999.

She was employed by Herrmann Funeral Home and by Fallicks Bakery. For 22 years she worked for Modern Appliance. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church for many years and a member of the McCook Eagles Auxiliary.

Berdeane is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Mortimore and husband, Pat of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two sons, Billy D. Jussel and wife, Betty of Grand Island and Richard F. Jussel and wife, Marilyn of Kearney; eight grandchildren, Pamela Peters and husband, Doug, Robert Jussel, Greg Jussel and wife, Tracy, James Jussel and wife, Cindy, Kathy Jo Rima and husband, Steve, Richard Mortimore and wife, Karen, Jeffery Jussel and wife, Dana and Jay Jussel and wife, Marcia; 19 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Delburn Willsey and wife, Betty of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two sisters, Maxine Ele and husband, Pat of McCook and Verlene Wright of Loveland, Colo.; relative and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel of McCook with Pastors Nolan and Barbara Pierce officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta. Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook.
