Melissa Jean (Harmon) Scott died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Denver Health Hospital in Denver, Colo. She was 30 years old.

Melissa was born to Mike and Jeanne (Gray) Harmon on Jan. 4, 1974, in North Platte. She was baptized June 2, 1974, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook by Father Yamamoto. She was confirmed June 22, 1986, also at St. Alban's.

She graduated from McCook Senior High in 1993. She received her CNA degree from McCook Community College in 1991.

She was in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1992 to 2000. She was awarded the certificate of achievement by the 1013th Field Service Company in April 1992. She attended the Healing Arts Institute in Colorado earning the title of certified massage therapist. She married Mark Scott in Dec. 19, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Missey was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Michelle (Harmon) Miller; her maternal grandparents, Phyllis and Ozro Gray; one aunt, Anne Elizabeth Harmon; and one uncle, Tracy Jo Harmon.

She leaves behind to mourn her a husband, Mark Scott of Fort Collins, Colo.; her father, Mike Harmon of McCook; her mother, Jeanne Anderson of Mesa, Ariz.; her sister, Heather and husband, Michael Udayan, niece Stephanie and nephews Benjamin and Aaron, all of Gilbert, Ariz.; her niece, Tiffany Miller and two nephews, Brandon and Cameron Miller of Panama City, Fla.; her paternal grandparents, Lewis "Bud" and Betty Harmon of McCook; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Jolene Scott of Fort Collins, Colo.; her sister-in-law, Julie Scott of Fort Collins, Colo.; her brother-in-law, Trent and wife, Gina Scott, nieces, Lauren and Olivia and nephew William, all of Loveland, Colo. She also leaves behind her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Services are Friday, April 30, 2004, 6 p.m., at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook. Services are open to all friends and family members.

Memorials may be sent to 837 West Sun Coast Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85332, which will be given to Melissa's favorite charities.
