Richard Tubbs, vice president of McCook Community College, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer McConville as the new head volleyball coach for McCook Community College.

A native of Indianola, Jennifer graduated from Republican Valley High School where she played volleyball and basketball.

McConville began her collegiate playing career at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte.

She then moved on to finish her college volleyball career at McCook Community College where she graduated in 1997 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

After graduating from MCC, McConville stayed at her alma mater where she assisted for two seasons under former coaches Stan Garretson and Matt Wiemers.

For the past three years, McConville has been the assistant coach for Republican Valley High School in Indianola.

While at Republican Valley, she assisted head coach Dennis Troester in guiding the volleyball team to two Nebraska Class D1 state championships and a second-place finish in 2003.

"I am very excited to be able to coach at the collegiate level after coaching high school for three years," McConville said. "I hope with my experience and knowledge, I can turn MCC volleyball into a respectable program."

McConville currently works part time for McCook Community Hospital in the business office.

Jennifer and her husband, Jason, live north of Indianola on the family farm where Jason farms with his dad and brother.

They have two children, Connor, 5 and Cayleigh, 1 1/2.
