THORNTON, Colo. -- Darrel John Fortin, 64, died Monday (April 19, 2004) at St. Anthony North in Thornton, Colo.
He was born June 24, 1939, to Eugene and Mabel (Pavlicek) Fortin in Leoville. He was raised in the Leoville area and attended St. Rita School for the Deaf in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He later resided in Leoville and Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene in 1997; and brother-in-law, Duane Bollig.
Survivors include his mother, Mabel Fortin of Thornton; two brothers, Duane and wife, Pat Fortin of Lee Summit, Mo., and Donald Fortin of Topeka, Kan.; and four sisters, Carol Bollig of Aliso Zaoviejo, Calif., Theresa and husband, Gene Foland of Topeka, Kan., Joyce Fortin of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Pam and husband, Craig Johnson of Thornton.
Services are Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Leoville with the Rev. George Kochuvelikkakam and Deacon Stan Chapin officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Leoville.
Vigil service is Friday, 8 p.m., at the church in Leoville.
Visitation is Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden and 7-9 p.m., at the church in Leoville and Saturday after 8 a.m.
Memorials may be given in his name to the St. Rita School for the Deaf.
