KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Helen Verneta Kisker, 91, died Friday (April 16, 2004) at the Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

She was born July 9, 1912, to Harry and Mary Bessie (Fleming) Bieghler in Beaver City. She grew up in Wilsonville and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1929.

She began teaching in Wilsonville.

On March 31, 1934, Verneta married Lowell Dunn. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1955.

On Nov. 15, 1959, Verneta married Alvin Henry Kisker at St. John's Lutheran Church southeast of McCook. The couple farmed in Ash Creek until moving to McCook in 1968.

She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, Lowell in 1955 and Alvin on Aug. 10, 1982; two infant sons, LaVern Dunn on Dec. 11, 1936 and Duane Dunn on May 17, 1943; and one daughter, Sharon Kay Dunn on June 4, 1958.

Survivors include one son, Larry Lynn Dunn and wife, Marueen Powell, Tenn.; one brother, Dean Bieghler and wife, Velde of Beaver City; one sister, Dorothy Wolfe of Norton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were today, 10 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Randy Wahl officiating. Interment will be in Ash Creek Cemetery in McCook.
