Evelyn Marie Fahnholz, 82, died Friday (March 26, 2004) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Sept. 17, 1921, to Homer D. and Ethel (Walburn) Smith in Wray, Colo. She grew up in Wray and graduated from high school in Wray.
In 1941, she married Ernest R. McMullen. He preceded her in death.
On Jan. 24, 1964, she married Walter Fahnholz in Grant. The couple made their home in Culbertson. She remained in Culbertson until moving to McCook in 2002.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson and was active in the Methodist Thrift Shop in Culbertson. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women in McCook, the Faith Methodist Circle in Culbertson, the Royal Neighbors and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ernest and second husband, Walter on March 24, 1986; one son, James R. McMullen on March 26, 2004; and one step-daughter, Arva Jean Edgerton.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Brand of McCook and Judy Greenlee and husband, Oren of Indianola; two step-sons, Ed Fahnholz and wife, Nancy and Dale Fahnholz and wife, Cindy, all of McCook; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; eighth great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Services are Monday, 1:30 p.m., at Herrmann Chapel in Culbertson with the Rev. Dan Spearow officiating. Inurnment will be in Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.
Memorials may be left in her name and left at Herrmann Funeral Home.
