STERLING, Colo. -- Evonne Klein, 63, of Sterling, Colo., died Saturday (March 20, 2004) at the Sterling Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 13, 1940, to Walter and Helen (Lenox) Orman in Maywood. She graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis in 1958 and attended business school in North Platte.

On July 12, 1958, she married Andrew Knepp.

On June 30, 1989, she married Ross Klein in Loveland, Colo.

She was secretary of the Nebraska School of Agriculture for several years; the state president of Legal Secretaries; and manager of the Curtis Housing Authority. She worked for attorneys Fred Schroeder Sr. and Fred Schroeder Jr. Her and her husband, Ross owned and operated Ross's TV in Fort Morgan, Colo. They moved to Greeley in 1996 and she worked for JC Penney Company for three years before moving to Sterling in August of 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Ross Klein of Sterling; two daughters, Corina and husband, A.J. Mulford of Kenesay and Katrina Peterson of Curtis; three step-daughters, Debbie and husband, Ed Krone of Gothenburg, Rhonda and husband, Doug Hill of Farnam and Cynthia and husband, Mike Widick of Greeley; two step-sons, Doug and wife, Paula Klein of Moorefield and Eric and wife, Jolene Klein of Greeley; one brother, Vernon and wife, Virginia Orman of Hayes Center; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Curtis with the Rev. Rick Sykes officiating. Interment will be in the Maywood Cemetery.

Visitation is today and Wednesday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at Blase-Wetzel Funeral Home in Curtis.

A memorial has been established in her name.
