LOS ANGELES -- Ronald Richard Redding, 67, died Dec. 25, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.

He was born May 17, 1936, to George Marion and Edna Lucille (Horton) in Danbury. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1954.

He entered the Marine Corps in 1954, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge as a corporal from the military in 1957, he returned to McCook.

He graduated from McCook Junior College with an associates degree in 1959. In 1968, he received his California certification as an embalmer and for 30 years he was employed by the Armstrong Family Malloy-Mitten Mortuary in Los Angeles. He retired in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1988 and mother in 1987; one sister, Mary Ann Rohen in 1975; and a nephew, David Redding in 2002.

Survivors include one sister, Connie Anderson and husband, Arthur of Westminister, Colo.; one brother, Dale Redding; and two nieces and three nephews.

Inurnment was Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
