LINCOLN -- Gilbert Nordhausen of Wauneta, died Tuesday (March 9, 2004) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.
He was born April 16, 1929, to Fredrick and Dorthea (Steinbeck) Nordhausen on the family farm south of Wauneta. He graduated from Wauneta High School in 1947.
On Aug. 28, 1949, he married Phyllis Mathews at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Wauneta; two daughters, Vicki Goings and husband, Mike of Lincoln and Pamela Gloy and husband, Ron of Ogallala; son, Monte and wife, Deb of Wauneta; three sisters, Viola Krausnick and husband, Elwyn of Wauneta, Gladys Schneider and husband, Dewaine of Wauneta and Elfrieda Johnston and husband, Jim of Wauneta; sister-in-law, Delpha Nordhausen of Wauneta; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta with the Rev. Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Wauneta Community Foundation or the Lutheran Hour radio program.
