KINSLEY, Kan. -- Alice A. (Solko) Heble, 85, died Monday (Feb. 9, 2004) at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Kinsley, Kan.
She was born July 28, 1918, to Carl and Anna (Barenberg) Solko in Herndon.
On Aug. 4, 1938, she married Leo C. Heble in Herndon. The couple made their home north of Atwood. They moved in to Atwood in 1943. She worked at the Rawlins County Court House in the district court clerk's office and was a bookkeeper for Atwood Grain Company. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society, both of Atwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; a daughter, Shirley; sisters, Eva, Sister Mary Fulgentius SSJ; and brothers, William, Phillip, Hubert, Raymond and a brother in infancy.
Survivors include her two sons, LaVern and wife, Ann of Clarence of New York and Leo "Butch" and wife, Anita of West Columbia, Texas; son-in-law, Bernie Horinek and wife, Marilyn of Atwood; brothers, Louis Solko and wife, Irene of Trenton and Charles F. Solko and wife, Pat of Aurora; sister-in-law, Lillie Solko of Atwood; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atwood.
Visitation is Friday, 2-9 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood.
A parish vigil and rosary will be said Friday, 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in her name.
