ATWOOD -- Hazel L. (Sterner) Nohrenberg, 76, died Friday (Feb. 6, 2004) at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart, Kan.

She was born Dec. 14, 1927, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Lewis Delos and Ila Louise (Walters) Sterner.

On Sept. 9, 1947, she married Peter Nohrenberg at Creston, Iowa. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter in 1978; and a granddaughter, Lynne Ann Timson in 1970.

Survivors include one son, Richard Nohrenberg of Atwood; two daughters, Ila Timson and husband, Tony, also of Atwood and Lynda Littau of Mesa, Ariz.; three brothers, Raymond Sterner and wife, Margie of Shreveport, La., Edward Sterner and wife, Gudrun of Etoile, Texas and Donald Sterner and wife, Betty of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Elaine Miller and husband, Donald of Rapid City, S.D.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Home in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. A private inurnment service will follow at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.
