IMPERIAL -- Mary Petsch, 97, died Saturday (Jan. 17, 2004) at Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial.
She was born Oct. 26, 1906, to George and Effie Daubert in Eiilsberg, Russia. She migrated with her parents to the United States when she was 12 years old. The family lived in Greeley, Colo., for several years before moving to Riverton, Wyo.
She married Kelly Petsch and moved to Alaska. The couple owned and operated the B&D Bar in Anchorage for many years before moving to Southwest Nebraska to be near relatives. They made their home in Hamlet. She has spent the last several years in the Imperial Manor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kelly in June of 2000; brother, Henry; and one sister, Emma Freeman.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy Peil and wife, Pauline and Jim Peil, both of Riverton, Wyo.; step-son, Rodney Petsch of Wauneta; sister, Betty Getz of Brighton, Colo.; two grandsons; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, 10:30 a.m. (MST), at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta with the Rev. Robert Frank officiating. Interment will be at the Eden Cemetery in Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
