SHELBY -- April Beth Carter and Matthew George Hock were united in marriage July 12, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby with the Rev. John Rooney officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mary Ann and Jack Carter of Shelby and Kathy and George Hock of Culbertson.

Grandparents of the couple are Dorothy and Gerald Carter of Shelby, the late Blanche and Louis Jasa, the late Maxine and Leslie Hock and the late Eula and Frank Campbell.

The bride wore an ivory satin floor-length gown with embroidery and tiny bows accenting the neckline, the sleeves and hemline. The chapel length train was accented with a large satin bow at the waist. The bride carried a bouquet of white and lavendar roses with a rosary entwined in the flowers.

Lishell McKinley, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Elizabeth Hock, Kathy Thaller and Carrie Carter were the bridesmaids. They each wore a two-piece floor-length lavendar matte satin gown. They carried bouquets of white and lavendar roses. The bride's personal attendant was Julie Peterson.

Blain Johnson, cousin of the bridegroom, was the best man. Andrew Hock, Edward Hock and Bradley Carter were the bridegroomsmen. They each wore black western-styled tuxedos with lavendar vests and a single, lavendar-colored rose boutonnieres. The bridegroom was wearing the same, except he wore a silver-colored vest and a white rose boutonniere.

Carter McKinley, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer and Rachel Merrill, cousin of the bridegroom, was the flowergirl.

Adam Hock, Neal Hock, Todd Scholz and Evan Meyer were the ushers for the ceremony.

Paul Campbell, uncle of the bridegroom, was the lector. Susan Ott was the organist with Rita Houdersheldt and Robin Johnson as the soloists. The guestbook attendant was Tammy Chiburis. Regina Merrill, Casey Polacek and Chelsea Weburg handed out programs, bells and bubbles. The flower arrangements were made by Linda Scholz, the bride's aunt.

The reception was at the Shelby Legion Hall. The host couples were Susan and Gene Fees, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Rita and Robert Johnson, aunt and uncle of the bridegroom.

Susan Fees made the wedding cake. Daryn Spitz, Rosie Meyer and Joan Campbell served the cake.

The couple honeymooned in Estes Park, Colo.

The bride is a student at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and the bridegroom is a farmer.

The couple is making their home in Culbertson.
