Franklin Merle Porth, 80, died Dec. 10, 2003, at the Lutheran Hospital in Denver, Colo.
He was born April 20, 1923, in Secor, Ill.
As an electrician, he wired many homes in the McCook area when the REA came into being.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Grace (Sloter) Porth; his wife, Gail (Guthrie-Sayer) Porth; son, Gary Porth; brothers, Kenneth, William, Orval and Lee Porth; and sister, Marilyn Gerdes.
Survivors include his step-son, Lloyd Sayer and wife, Carmen of Westminister, Colo.; and son, Michael Porth and wife, Ruth of Westminster; sisters, Viola Moehring, Pekin, Ill., Erma Lang of Cross Plains, Tenn., Hildred Harms of Washington, Ill., Norma Perry of Plymouth, Calif., and Elaine Colclasure of Roanoke, Ill.; and brothers, Dale Porth of Escondido, Calif., and Raymond Porth of Secor, Ill.
Services are Saturday (Jan. 17, 2004) 11 a.m., at McCook Christian Church with the Rev. Clark Bates officiating. There will be a private inurnment in the Indianola Cemetery.
