Wayne attended Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan. He was the president/owner of Texas Roof Management in Dallas, Texas. Wayne was a member of the Building Owner and Management Association. Wayne was an outdoor sports enthusiast and he enjoyed motorcycling with friends, attending Dallas Sporting events and hunting on his parent's farm. He was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Wayne's remarkable charm, wit and sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Catherine; children, Courtney Hancock and Wyatt Awtrey; parents, W.H. and Gladys Awtrey of Ulysses, Kan.; parents-in-law, Don and Rose Fuller of Elkhart, Ind.; three sisters and their husbands, Sheila and Bill Hachmeister of Topeka, Kan., Gena and Alan Hess of Stratton and Rhonda and Dale O'Connor of Olathe, Kan.; nieces and nephews, Lindsay O'Connor, Brady and Ashley Hess, Jason and Aaron Hachmeister; and numerous life-long devoted friends.
