Rosemary Huffman Schultz

Friday, December 26, 2003

Rosemary Huffman Schultz, 90, passed away Dec. 22, 2003, following complications from Alzheimer's and pneumonia in Oakland, Calif., where she had been living with her son and daughter-in-law for the past four years.

She was born on July 11, 1913 in Toledo, Ore.

She lived in Oregon, Washington, Texas, Illinois and California before graduating from Willamette University in 1932.

She married William G. Schultz in 1947 and lived in McCook for the next 28 years where she taught in the McCook school system and at the junior college. She co-owned the McCook Tour and Travel Agency and participated in PEO, Eastern Star, TriT and AAUW, women's service organizations, and was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, hunter, world traveler, two-city golf champion, and a consummate cook and entertainer. She and Bill retired to Sun City Ariz., in 1974 where they lived for 24 years.

Rosemary is survived by her son Bill and daughter-in-law, Alice of Oakland and sister-in-law Marjorie Johnston of McCook.

Her friends and family would agree that Rosemary had two speeds, "high and off," and her passion for life was contagious.

Rosemary will be interned next to her husband at Ft. McPherson Military Cemetery in North Platte.
