LINCOLN -- Kent L. Bennett, 67, of Holdrege, died Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2003) at Bryan LGH-East Hospital in Lincoln.
He was born June 16, 1936, to Harold and Hazelle (Broomfield) Bennett on the family homestead near McCook. He attended school at the Red Willow School and continued his education in Lebanon. After his education, he worked on the family farm.
On Aug. 18, 1957, he married Jeannette Larington of McCook. The family made their home in Southwest Nebraska and then moved to Blue Hill. He settled in Holdrege in 1975.
On Aug. 6, 2001, he married Dorothy Remington. The couple resided in Holdrege and Las Vegas, Nev.
He has worked in agriculture all his life. He managed the Co-op in Moorfield and Bluehill and then worked in agriculture sales until his retirement in the early 90s.
He was member of Fraternal Order of Elks in Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond; and son-in-law, Bob Peterson.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Holdrege and Las Vegas; one son, Warren Bennett and his wife, Vyckie of Norfolk; two daughters, Carrie Nelson and husband, Mark of Holdrege and Jeanne Blank and husband, Dave of Funk; two brothers, Jerry Bennett and wife, Joan of Cozad and Gordon Bennett and wife, Connie of Lexington; and 14 grandchildren.
Graveside services are Friday, 2:30 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook with Dave Thorell officiating.
