Erma Viola Grill, 90, died Sunday (Dec. 7, 2003) at Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born Dec. 17, 1912, to John Henry and Caroline (Schissler) Grill in Little Rock, Ark. She was raised in Herndon and Broken Bow. She also attended school in these towns. Later, she received education degrees at the University of Nebraska and Columbia University.
She taught typing at the North Platte High School and was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Tout Bird Club and Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her brother, Carl F. Grill of McCook; one nephew, John S. Grill and wife, Luci of McCook; and one niece, Sondra Douglass and husband, Joe of Silverthorne, Colo.
Services are Thursday, 1 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Amy Jo Hawley officiating. Interment will be in the Evangelical Cemetery in Herndon.
Visitation is Thursday until service time.
