CAMBRIDGE -- Waldemar W. "Wally" Haussler, 84, of Arapahoe, died Friday (Dec. 5, 2003) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born Feb. 3, 1919, to Karl and Maria (Huxoll) Haussler in Gosper County. He attended school at Star and St. Matthews schools. After school, he worked on the family farm until leaving for the Army in 1941 and serving the Pacific Theater until his discharge in 1945. He returned to the family farm north of Holbrook. He farmed and ranched until moving to the Sunshine Village in Arapahoe in 1995 and later to CA Mues Good Samaritan Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Ben and Earnest Haussler; three sisters, Frieda Stoll, Esther Stagemeyer and Hilda Hilker.
Survivors include his brother, Otto Haussler of Arapahoe.
Services were today, 2 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe. Burial was at St. Matthews Cemetery in Holbrook. Military rites were provided by the Veteran Organization of Edison.
Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe was in charge of the arrangements.
