Loren Elden Thayer, 45, died Friday (Dec. 5, 2003) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born Nov. 10, 1958, to Lawrence Elven and Yvonne Dorothy (Kahler) Thayer at Fort Morgan, Colo.

He grew up and attended school at Brush, Colo., and was a truck driver for over 20 years. He enjoyed working with horses and singing.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Alda Ruppert and Wenzel and Myrtle Kahler and a sister, Linda Thayer.

Survivors include a son, Cody Loren Thayer and daughter Megan Yvonne Thayer of East Plackla, Fla.; his mother, Yvonne Dybdahl and husband Marvin of McCook; two sisters, Lorie Blackshear and husband, Glenn of Helena, Mont., Peggy Janas and husband, Rob of North Platte; three brothers, Lawrence Thayer and wife, Sherrill of McCook and Lonnie Thayer of Tucson, Ariz., and Sam Thayer and wife, Sharon of North Platte.

Memorial services are Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Dale Heimer officiating. A private inurnment will be at a later time.

Friends and family may sign the memorial book at the funeral home. Memorials are being accepted in his name.
