Don Harpst (Scrooge) and Rachael Hart (Ghost of Christmas Present) prepare to visit scenes of happy homes during the McCook Community College production of "A Christmas Carol," Dec. 4, 5 and 6 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. (McCook Community College)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and that means it's time for the traditional McCook Community College Theater production of "A Christmas Carol." Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 308 E. Ninth.

This sixth bi-annual production features many regulars returning to re-create memorable roles. Don Harpst originated the role of Scrooge and continues to play it with great glee. Phil Lyons, the original Ghost of Christmas Past, returns as does Chris Lyons, the original (and second) Tiny Tim, who now plays Scrooge's married nephew, Fred. Julia Lyons, the third Tiny Tim, returns as a friend of Fred's wife. Cheryl Scott of Hayes Center has played several different characters in the show and returns as one of the scavengers. New this year to the cast of 36 are many college students and community members including Bill and Shelly Longnecker as the Crachits. Logan Vrbas is the sixth Tiny Tim. Tickets are on sale at MCC Student Services office in McMillen Hall and at the door on the nights of the performance. Tickets are $5.
